I was a group home manager for 14 years and I kept waiting for the part in the story where the nurse was reported and for grotesque violations of privacy and professional conduct !! Not acceptable. Imagine if that had been a nurse who said her baby shouldn’t go to a couple of another race :)

This story repeats itself thousands of times (especially in the United States) " I was brought up in a very Christian family and then discovered that I was gay". And then it comes all the mental suffering. It's almost a cliché. It'd be nice for a change to find a story " I was brought up in a non-religious household, I discovered I was gay and then I lived happily ever after".

Why do people cling so much to a belief that denies them and fills them with guilt? It's a lost battle. There will always be a "well-intentioned" Christian who will tell you to repent of your sin and adapt to what the scriptures say and not the other way around.

Indeed. Gender and sexuality are NOT the same thing. Gender defines our XY or XX chromosomes we developed long after being conceived and long before being born. We are all born Male or Female as a gender. Nothing about our Gender constructs our sexuality. We all develop hormones during mid childhood. Those hormones drive us to first fantasize our sexuality then choose our sexuality. It is your choice to choose heterosexuality, homosexuality, bi-sexuality, or an asexual existence. Don't tell anyone else what sexuality they can ir cannot choose. Don't comply with anyone else's attempt to limit your choices to their choices. We are all human. Let us except each other on that criteria then determine your assessment if everyone you encounter based only on their character.
